My painting of “Big Bend” located in Zion National Park was accepted into the national competition “Close to Home, Our Own Spectacular National Parks” which will be held in St. George , Utah at the St. George Art Museum, January 16 – May 28, 2016.

I’m very excited to have been juried into the show, it is the first national competition I’ve submitted to in almost 4 years.

I spent considerable time on this painting primarily because of its size (24×36). I generally don’t do larger paintings but I wanted to make a big statement with this piece. It is a subject which commands a large format.

Being accepted into the show is a signal to me that I was successful.
